Our contributors & editorial standards
AttendingFi's guides are written and reviewed by contributors with real experience across PSLF, income-driven repayment, refinancing, and the tax side of student loans. Each contributor works in their lane, and a second contributor reviews for accuracy.

How we write and review content
Every guide is attributed to the contributor whose expertise best matches the topic and reviewed by a second contributor before publishing. We build our explanations and calculations from primary sources — studentaid.gov, the IRS, the U.S. Department of Education, and the text of federal law — and we update pages when the rules change. You can see the formulas and assumptions behind every plan on our methodology page.
Our content is educational. It explains how the programs and the math work so you can make an informed decision. It is not individualized financial, tax, or legal advice, and we don't tell you what to do — we show you the modeled outcomes and what would change them. For your specific situation, verify details with your loan servicer at studentaid.gov and, where relevant, a qualified tax professional.
Independence & affiliate disclosure
AttendingFi is free and requires no login. Some outbound links to lenders or financial products may be affiliate links, which can earn us a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change our modeled results, our rankings, or what the calculator recommends — the math is the same for everyone. Full details are on our disclosures page.
